Consignment Sale Shopping - Think 6 Months at a Time

Consignment sale season is one of my best times. Smartly scheduled for spring and fall, I score all of my daughter’s clothes for the next six months at these twice-yearly events. My favorite consignment sale in my area is the Just Between Friends Tacoma sale. Fondly referred to as JBF, this is an event you must experience to believe.

If you haven’t been to a JBF sale event near you, I recommend you go. If you live in the Tacoma-Seattle area, go to the JBF Tacoma sale.

The 411 on JBF

Just Between Friends is a national consignment sale franchise. Franchise owners host sales events at cities across the nation. The owners book the date and the venue. Consignors price and tag items to sell. Shoppers can browse tens of thousands of items and buy them for a fraction of the price.

You will find everything you need and want at the JBF sale. Seriously.

The JBF sale in my town is less than one mile from my house. I can walk to it. In fact, I have. It was a rookie mistake. There was barely room for the baby on the walk home.

JBF instantly became an MVP in my thrifty game. Shoes and seasonal necessities like swimsuits, pajamas and outerwear are a few of my favorite things to score at JBF.

My toddler seems to be wearing something I scored at JBF every day. And she grows out of items I purchased at the last sale just in time for a new one. Take her current Crocs. I purchased them in May and the shoes are a bit of a squeeze on her feet. Don’t judge me! We’re in the final countdown for the next sale. Besides, I’m too busy building my shopping strategy to feel guilty (okay I feel a little guilty).

Speaking of Crocs, you’ll find them at JBF along with Converse, Keen, Skechers and all the other big names in tot footwear. So many shoes. I get light-headed just thinking about it.

Behold, Six Months of Style

Crocs, a Koala Kids bikini, Elmo jammies and Target brand jeggings were a few of our favorite summer looks via JBF. I purchased a pile of shoes, dresses, pants, tank tops, shirts and pajamas my daughter wore for the last six months. A few of the items, such as leggings, are flawlessly transitioning to fall.

The Step 2 Neat & Tidy Cottage pictured above was a secondhand score from a friend. She was moving and sold it to me for $40. At JBF last May, however, another friend scored the exact same playhouse at the JBF sale for $75. (Retail is around $140)

Did I mention you can find everything you need at the JBF sale? Oh good, because it’s true.
